Why choose me?
Experience. Education. Style.
Experience: Hey, I know there are loads of fitness instructors and programs out there to choose from. Few of them work almost exclusively with prenatal and postnatal clients, and fewer work with as many as I have. With well-over five hundred pregnancies, clients seen from prenatal through perimenopause and beyond, and nearly twenty years of hands-on experience, I know what to look for to keep you strong and working optimally for long-term health and fitness.
Education: As faculty for The Center for Women’s Fitness, a background in education and teaching, and a strong connection with the Chicagoland Pelvic Floor Therapist community, I’m more versed in the common dysfunctions that occur with women’s bodies than most fitness instructors. You deserve specialized fitness during pregnancy, postpartum, and into menopause, and an instructor who has the extensive training to do it right.
Style: I love what I do, and my clients feel it. I’m communicative, caring, and good at putting people at ease. I’m going to say “Vagina” in class, so get ready for some honest talk about your body and its functions, and understand that knowledge is power. I’m also told I’m pretty funny, but I’ll let you be the judge. ;)
Virtual and Studio Classes
Foundations Classes
COMING SOON!
Whether you are postpartum, perimenopausal, post menopause, or perhaps recovering from a fitness practice which valued sweat and intensity at the expense of deep body connection and awareness—this class is for you. I developed this class in response to all those who wanted a class to address the missing strength many noticed as their bodies adapted to the many changes of life. Something “foundational” seemed missing that their regular fitness routines weren’t addressing—sometimes chronic tightness substituting for strength. Rigidity for suppleness. Hypermobility or laxity rather than flexibility. A changing body needs a changing workout.
Beginning with breath and deep listening to your body’s rhythms and sensations, each 55 minute Studio class will focus on addressing fascial restrictions, muscle compensation patterns, and critical joint stability while moving mindfully into functional strengthening of our three cores--the lower core (legs and feet), middle core (pelvis, pelvic floor and back), and upper core (shoulder girdle and neck)--all while embracing the fascial system and nervous systems that connect them all. Expect to learn more about your unique body and its patterns, and be able to apply that knowledge to all your fitness routines. Studio classes limited to 8 people. Appropriate for Postpartum 12 weeks, including c-section.
Sundays at 12pmCST In Studio at the Pilates Center of Chicago
Prenatal Classes
Many places offer exercise during pregnancy; I offer exercise for pregnancy. 55 minute classes to move your body in ways that support your changing body, alleviate aches and pains, keep you strong while building critical neural connections that will improve your physical and mental fitness, prepare you for labor, delivery and a stronger postnatal recovery. Classes are capped at 8 people for optimal individual feedback.

Postnatal Classes
The fourth trimester is a critical time to connect—and reconnect with your body. The right intensity of exercise at the appropriate points will help ensure you feel stronger and more energized while also protecting you from injury or complications down the road. Supple is the new sexy! 55 minutes of quality time reconnecting to your bod, releasing tightness, correcting imbalances and getting your body, mind and heart cared for so you can pass it on! Particular attention focused on preventing and identifying Pelvic Floor Dysfunctions, restoring proper diaphragm movement, addressing rib flare and Diastasis Recti as well as teaching proper form for supporting posture and preventing common postpartum pathologies like “mom thumb”, carpal tunnel syndrome, mastitis, and back pain.
Classes are capped at 8 people. Clients will be assessed for diastasis recti and signs of pelvic floor dysfuction, and may be referred to Pelvic Floor Therapists. Babies welcome!
Thursdays at 6pmCST Virtual
